As July kicked off, tragedy struck at the Florida-Georgia border. According to CNN, a truck accident on Interstate 95 resulted in four people losing their lives.

Reportedly, a trucker lost control of his tractor-trailer truck, which began to overturn. The truck then struck a car and traveled through the median into the northbound lanes where it was struck by another tractor-trailer truck and two other cars. Two passengers that were in the truck that caused the wreck were killed in the accident. Two other passengers from one of the cars that struck the truck were killed in the crash as well. The driver of the tractor-trailer truck that caused the incident was injured and had to be taken to the hospital.

According to the report, the trucker is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the wreck. Authorities were still investigating the incident at the time of this report.

What to Do If Your Loved One Is the Victim of a Truck Accident

Way too often, people lose their lives because of someone else’s negligence. Many truck accidents are preventable. If you lose a loved one in a truck crash, you should speak with an experienced truck accident attorney as soon as possible.

Truck accident lawyers can gather and examine the evidence in your case. If the wreck happened because of a trucker’s negligence, or because a trucking company was negligent, an experienced attorney will be able to determine that and help you hold those responsible for your loved one’s death accountable. This includes helping you ensure that a negligent trucker or trucking company doesn’t hurt others in the same way again.

A truck accident lawsuit also enables you to secure compensation for hospital bills, loss of income, living expenses, funeral costs, and pain and suffering.

Our Truck Accident Attorneys Are Ready to Help

The aftermath of a truck accident can be chaotic and overwhelming. Victims have often suffered catastrophic injuries and the families of victims who were killed are forced to come to terms with the sudden and unexpected loss of a loved one.

In the meantime, trucking companies, their insurers, and their legal teams are gathering evidence and building a case to avoid taking responsibility for the wreck. As a result, victims are often behind from the start and don’t have a chance to bring negligent truckers and trucking companies to justice without the help of an experienced truck accident lawyer.
